Annual MLK Scholarship Gala
will be held Jan. 8th at 3 PM

Greenville, South Carolina - Gamma Gamma Lambda of Alpha Phi Alpha is sponsoring the 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Scholarship Gala at Younts Conference Center on the campus of Furman University. The event will be held on Sunday, January 8th at 3 PM. "This is a week earlier before our traditional start time and we are asking our patrons to take note of this change" said Travis Posley, 2012 MLK Gala Chairman.

Also, we will continue to honor Dr. King's Legacy and announce our winner for the Martin Luther King Citizenship Award for 2012 later this month. The two-hour event will also include a three-course meal and live entertainment. Last year's winner (2011) was Mary Duckett of the Greenville Housing Authority. This year's entertainment for the Gala is the local R&B group, River City Band featuring Mike & Mike.

All proceeds will go to the Luke Chatman Scholarship for Greenville County High school students. Gamma Gamma Lambda has awarded more than $62,000 dollars in scholarships to local high school students.

Ticket, sponsorship, and ad information is available below after December 4, 2011. Tickets will be available directly from GGL Brothers. You can get more information by emailing the Chapter at MLKgala@gglapa.org or calling (864) 441-9067. Deadline for Ads and Sponsorship submissions is December 30, 2011
