Alpha Political Awareness Forum to be held on Feb.

Clemson University, Clemson, SC-The Pi Alpha and Gamma Gamma Lambda
Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is sponsoring their Alpha
Political Awareness Forum scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2002
at 5:00 pm in the Student Senate Chambers, Clemson University.
The members of Alpha Phi Alpha feel political awareness among Clemson
University students, especially minorities, is an important element
of campus life.
This forum will allow Clemson University students and student leaders
the opportunity to meet and discuss chosen issues pertinent to the lives
of college students and South Carolinians with local and South Carolina
Legislators. The issues will include but will not be limited to: terrorism/national
security, state lottery, education budget cuts, reapportionment, and
secondary education. After the panel discussion all attendees will have
the opportunity to mingle amongst each other.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is the nation's first African-American
Greek-letter fraternity established by college students. Established
on December 4, 1906 on the campus of Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha
has more than 750 chapters worldwide with over 100,000 members. Gamma
Gamma Lambda Chapter is the Greenville chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha established
in 1941. The Pi Alpha Chapter was established on Clemson University'
campus on February 23, 1983.
