FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
For Immediate Release Greenville, SC, September 14, 2004– The guys are getting together in Greenville, South Carolina, at the Shady Oak Baptist Church Campus, 1111 White Horse Road to talk about important life issues, including the responsibilities ofsexuality and fatherhood. The event is slated for October 2nd from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Greenville is one of more than 500 sites across the country taking part in Project Alpha, a program sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the March of Dimes to prevent teenage pregnancy. As a part of Project Alpha Week, the upstate chapters in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Clemson, with participation from chapters statewide, will work with local 12 to 17-year old boys to help them better understand their role in responsible sexual behavior. Project Alpha uses videos, hand-outs and small-group discussions led by experts in health education and law. Discussion is both informal and frank and the safe environment encourages young men to ask about responsibility and respect. Since 1980, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the March of Dimes have been sponsoring Project Alpha to help young men make positive choices about sexual behavior and their responsibilities. For further information, please contact Don R. Weston at (864) 968-0776 or or send email message to dweston1@charter.net. ### Download Project Alpha Parental Consent Form (MS Word format) |
