GGL Wins SC Alpha March for Babies 2012 Award
Columbia, South Carolina - Gamma Gamma Lambda ( ΓΓΛ ) Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc .has won the South Carolina Alpha March of Dimes Award for 2012. This award is given to the Alpha Chapter who raises the most funds during our State-wide March for Babies effort which "kickoff"-ed off in February and end on September 28th. The featured event during that period was the locally-held March for Babies Event held on April 28, 2012 at Clemson's ICAR Campus. This marks the first time the chapter has won the first place in the District since 2008, and this year, we raised $2,125 for the March of Dimes effort.
Gamma Gamma Lambda was recognized at the SCAlpha District Conference on October 7th at the Awards Breakfast in Orangeburg, South Carolina. However, the award was presented to the Chapter at the Fall Intake Session on October 13, 2012 in Columbia, South Carolina. Thanks to all the brothers who contributed to the Chapter effort this year and we hope to retain the title next year, in 2013.
