GGL to host 27th MLK Youth Program
at Furman University Conference Center
Younts Conference Center will be new location for the MLK Youth Programs

Greenville, SC, December 21, 2005Go to High School, Go To College Award Program and College Fair will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Younts Conference Center on the campus of Furman University. This is a change of location from Southside High School in previous years. This program, which is also a part of our MLK events, honors high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Academics, Art, Athletics, Music, and Leadership. Last year, over 279 award winners were recognized. Several regional colleges and universities will be on hand to share information about their curriculums and programs, admissions, and financial aid.

This marks the first year the Chapter is collaborating with HBCU Classic Events which are being held at the Timmons Areana in the same area.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., is the nation's oldest and largest predominantly black Greek-letter fraternity established by college students. Founded on December 4, 1906 on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has more than 750 chapters worldwide with over 100,000 members initiated. Gamma Gamma Lambda is the Greenville Chapter established in 1941.
