PROJECT ALPHA 2008
Annual "Guy-Talk" Session set for January 26, 2008
Project Alpha is in its 28th year

For Immediate Release

Greenville, SC, December 18, 2007– The guys are getting together in Greenville, South Carolina, at the Shady Oak Baptist Church Campus, 1111 White Horse Road to talk about important life issues, including the responsibilities of sexuality and fatherhood. The event is slated for January 26th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Greenville is one of more than 500 sites across the country taking part in Project Alpha, a program sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the March of Dimes to prevent teenage pregnancy. As a part of Project Alpha Week, the upstate chapters in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Rock Hill and Clemson will work with local middle school and high school boys to help them better understand their role in responsible behavior and make better life choices.

Project Alpha uses videos, hand-outs and small-group discussions led by experts in health education and law. Discussion is both informal and frank and the safe environment encourages young men to ask about responsibility and respect. Since 1980, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the March of Dimes have been sponsoring Project Alpha to help young men make positive choices about sexual behavior and their responsibilities.
